Background: UKZN
The
University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) is an institution that has five
separate campuses situated of the KwaZulu-Natal province (KZN) in South
Africa. It was formed in 2004 by the merger of the University of Natal
and the University of Durban Westville. The diversity of students,
academics and staff is the heart of the University’s vision of being the
premier university of African scholarship. The university mission is to
be a truly South African university that is academically excellent,
innovative in research, critically engaged with society and
demographically representative, redressing the disadvantages, inequities
and imbalances of the past. MEPI is one positive initiative in that
direction.
